Why humidity changes the specification
A fan cools by moving air across the skin and speeding evaporation. In humid tropical air evaporation slows, and the only lever left is air velocity. A fan designed for a temperate market is not a bad fan — it is an under-specified one for Colombo. We build 150,000 fans a month for a home market with the same humidity and the same 230 V / 50 Hz supply as Sri Lanka, so the specification starts in the right place.
Electrical, labelling and compliance
- Supply: 230 V / 50 Hz, the same as India. No motor change.
- Plug: Sri Lanka uses both round-pin and British three-pin sockets. Tell us which your customers use and we fit it.
- Labels and manuals: your brand and artwork, in the languages you sell in.
- SLSI: we supply the test reports and documentation for Sri Lanka Standards Institution import inspection, as we did for the first shipment.
Which range suits Sri Lanka
The 18″ metal pedestal is proven in the market. Alongside it, the 400 mm plastic table, pedestal and wall ranges cover the volume segment, with up to eleven standard colours and copper or aluminium winding to your specification. A single container can carry several models.
Shipping
By sea, FOB or CIF, in export cartons with container-ready palletisation. Colombo is a short transit from Indian ports, which matters when a season is running ahead of forecast and a second container is needed quickly.
